Romance

After Oktoberfest, we toured the "Romantic Road" area of Bavaria. Of course I got in Hauser's pants.

A summary of our exploits:

Tubingen city

Hauser was a lazy git (understandable after walking into a glass door the night before after Oktoberfest), and unable to pick up the rental car till 11AM, so we did not have time to get to Baden-Baden from Munich. This is probably all for the best as we rented a a manual car that I was to learn how to drive ON THE WAY to Stuttgart (I've never driven stick before) where Hauser had to go meet family and then continue on to Baden-Baden. Instead, we stopped in Tubingen and Hauser proceeded with Nancy to meet his long lost brethren in Mussberg. Tubingen was further reminder that Germany is great and that I should have come to Europe years ago. A river runs through it, the leaves were in full bloom, dead/alive smell of Fall was everpresent, sweater weather abounded, blue skies with a chill in the air surrounded, breathed heavy from hiking with no sweat, etc. all made it fantastic. Plus, it is just the right size for easy 1 day navigation. The only way it could have been a more fall experience would have been if football (American!) happened to be on TV somewhere.

Bamberg (MMmm. This beer tastes bacony!)

We met back up with Hauser and Nancy to enjoy the smoky goodness of Bamberg. This is a place where they smoke their beer so it has a distinct flavor. We ate a lot of pork with it and went home happy. I couldn't properly describe it if I tried, so i'll just leave with my enthusiastic recommendation to try it.

Romantic Road (Seducing Hauser)

I worked my magic on Hauser with the aid of the quaint Medieval town of Rothenburg as well as the beautiful fall foliage of the Romantic Road. There could not have been a better way to spend a Fall Sunday with no football available.
